HISTORY OF THE
ASSOCIATION
SOUTHERN
COMMAND
|
 |
3rd
MILITARY
DISTRICT
|
The Association was born of two parents circa 1963, 45 Supply Company RAASC and
33 Transport Company (GT).
The decision to combine both as an association was made by R.H. Dight (45) and
D.C. Hill (33) and respective committees, and name agreed to be Southern Command
RAASC Association.
When RACT Corps was raised in 1973 it was decided to change title to 3rd Military
District RAASC/RACT Association. To enable it to be identified as a Corps Association
and not as a particular unit, its charter makes it available to all members past and
present, serving or non serving of AASC, RAASC, RAE(Tn) and RACT.
