SECRETARIES REPORT

Last years AGM started off with confusion as Oakleigh Barracks were not opened and the availability for our meeting, the meeting was eventually held at Malvern East Sports Club. We are back here at Oakleigh Barracks I thank RASM Jim Davis for his support. Berets and badges have been distributed and by the numbers that were worn on Anzac day and the Reserve Forces day and the old metal trunks were also raided. It was great to see. There is a proforma that has been distributed tonight asking interest in further purchases of Berets etc and shirts. - money up front, discussion within Gen Business. In this last year we have had our usual get together Anzac Sunday at Beaumaris, Anzac Day Reserve Forces Day of which the attendance for want of description is improving. The high light of this year for me was the planning and implementing the Dedication of the Plaques (RAASC and RACT) parade held at the Shrine of Remembrance on 04 Jun. The planning commenced on Oct last year with a application for a grant submitted to DVA, which was granted. That was the easy part some of the other requirements were - Seeking approval for the plaque design, support from the Association, develop and gain approval got the parade format and service from the Shrine Trustees, guests, parade and of course afternoon tea and drinks at the Southern Cross. It was an experience and a worth while job. The visit to RAAF Williams was cancelled due to 21 Sqns support commitments to Executive Stretch, but seriously the non avail of the Golf Course was also a big pull to cancel the weekend. Ian Ward and I will meet with Mal Norris soon to plan for early next year. My intention this year has been regular supply of newsletters to keep you all up to date with things, Your articles and info is most welcomed. Bob Tyler
